Ramchandi Beach

The Ramchandi is one of the Odisha's beaches that lie at a distance of 7 kilometers from Konark Temple. The beach lies at the mouth where the River Kusabhadra meets the Bay of Bengal. The river is named after the presiding deity of the region, Kusabhadra who is worshipped who is worshipped with reverence by the local people.

The Ramchandi Beach is not as populated as the other beaches of Orissa. The beach is formed at the confluence of the river and the Bay of Bengal and therefore the waters are not turbulent and do not form high rising waves. The beach is mostly visited by the local people in the weekends.

The Ramchandi Beach is well connected by roads to the city of Bhubaneshwar and Puri. The nearest airport of the region lies at Bhubaneshwar. Puri is also well connected by railways to the major cities of Kolkata, New Delhi and Tirupati. Roads connect Puri to Vishakhapatnam, Ranchi, Raipur, Durgapur and Kolkata.
